What is a Volunteer Friend?
A Volunteer Friend serves as a friend of a Senior living in Union County. The Volunteer Friend develops a warm, supportive relationship with a person living in his or her own home. The Volunteer Friend will give that person the extra support need to stay in their own home.

Activities related to the volunteer work may include the following:
  • Regular visitation (2-4 times per month) at the person's home.
  • Conversations, reading and listening.
  • Sharing and informal support.
  • Making phone calls or writing letters.
  • Opening the mail.
  • Contact with service providers and family members, as appropriate.
  • Quarterly report.
  • NOTE: Volunteers have no financial obligation.
